In addition to Bike to Work day (for which registration is open) and the annually canceled Bike DC ride, another great community ride in the area is the Arlington Community Bike Ride - (not pictured).
The Arlington Community Bike Ride [is] on May 27, 2006. This non-competitive cycling event will offer two route options, a 17-mile County Tour and a shorter 9-mile Family Ride. The cost of the Ride is $15 per person for those who register before May 24.
I've never done this, but it seems they've changed the route to allow the family ride to be on the flat W&OD trail so that 6 year olds don't have to hammer it up a steep incline. 6 year olds are so lazy.
Why would someone pay $15 for a nine-mile bike ride?
